What an incredible past few weeks it has been for Rehoboth Indivisible Fireside Chat! We have so much to celebrate and some important news to share about the future of our group as we harness our amazing momentum.
"No Kings" Rally Was A Resounding Success!
The rally on June 14th was a huge success because of every single one of you who showed up. We estimate that approximately 180-190 people stood with us in Seekonk to send a powerful message against authoritarianism. The energy was incredible, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
We also want to extend a massive thank you to our allies at Mansfield Indivisible for their invaluable help with marshaling the event and ensuring everyone's safety. They are holding their own rally on Wednesday, July 2nd, and we encourage you to support them if you can. (Please see the flyer below for details).
Our collective action was so impactful that it was covered by local news! (Thank you Carl for notifying the news as well) You can see the coverage here:
A New Chapter for Our Group
With our incredible growth comes the need to reorganize and build a sustainable structure for the future. As part of this transition, our Chair (Hank) and Vice Chair (Trauti) have stepped down from their leadership roles.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to Hank for initiating Fireside Chat, for his commitment to gathering people, and for commendably managing our meetings to stimulate interest in contemporary politics. He grew this from a small group of friends into a powerful community of over 100 members.
We also thank Trauti for her thoughtful responses, advice, and the warm welcome she offered to so many, especially those attending a meeting for the first time.
I (Robert) have stepped in as interim chair to help guide us through this next phase. You can reach me directly at [email protected].
Keep the Flame Alive: We Need You to Step Up!
To keep this flame alive and build on our momentum, we need more people to step into leadership and support roles. We are now shifting our focus to a model of more community action and more impactful, less frequent general meetings.
Our meetings will now be held once a month or less (especially during busy action-packed months) and will feature guest speakers, workshops, or specific action-planning sessions.
To make this new, action-focused model successful, we are in need of volunteers to:
- Join the board or steering committee to help guide our group's strategy.
- Take charge of communications (social media, newsletter).
- Help organize and create future rallies and events.
This is a critical moment for our group. If you are ready to take a more active role, please fill out the volunteer sign-up form below and let us know how you'd like to help.

Get Connected: New Social Media!
We have new ways to stay connected between newsletters and meetings. Please follow us and join the conversation!
Our website (www.indivisiblefiresidechat.org) will also be updated soon to reflect these new changes.
Thank you all for being a part of this movement. Let's get to work!
In solidarity,
Robert Interim Chair, Rehoboth Indivisible Fireside Chat
